According to different occasions, the bearing inner ring or cage and needle roller assembly may not be used, and the load capacity and operation are guaranteed when the sliding bearing surface directly matches the outer ring with the bearing seat hole as the bearing. The performance and the same raceway surface hardness, machining accuracy and bearing surface quality of the ring, shaft or housing bore should be similar to the roller bearing ring. This type of bearing can only carry radial loads.

Typical applications for caged Needle Roller Bearings are gearboxes, automotive power transmission systems, two and four stroke engines, planetary gear sets and air compressors.
